My work uses the abstract human figure to explore the tension between what we reveal, what we protect, and what we become. I combine unconventional materials – broken glass, oils, texture and transparency. Beauty and damage often occupy the same surface, and distortion can reveal something more truthful than likeness. Rooted in memory, identity, desire, loss, and reinvention, the work remains deliberately unresolved, leaving space for the viewer to recognize something of their own experience within it.

Artist Biography
My name is Diana Luckysova. I was born in Ukraine where I received a master’s degree in philosophy, which was both useless and life-changing.
After moving to the United States, I built a career as a professional photographer, commissioned artist, and gallery owner, eventually founding Luckysova Studios Gallery in Old Town San Diego.
Since then, I’ve traveled extensively and lived in eight countries across the Americas and Europe, collecting an unusual mix of experiences, perspectives, and practical skills along the way. Living across cultures has profoundly shaped the way I see people, relationships, identity, and change – and inevitably, the way I communicate with the world through my art.

– First place ($3,000 prize) in an international fine art competition in Los Angeles;
